The Brotherhood of the Jungle Cock

Our Namesake

The Brotherhood of the Jungle Cock derives its name from the waxed neck feathers of the jungle fowl shown below. This bird is currently on the endangered species list.

Jungle Cock, Gallus Sonnerati: The, jungle fowl (grey) is a native of eastern and southern India, It inhabits bamboo groves and forests on mountain slopes up to 5000 feet. The male neck cape is the source for the “eyes” on trout and salmon flies, as shown below.
